Connected

Everything seems ordinary but our connection to the infrastructure is quite extraordinary.  Humanity has built a world in which miracles have become utilities.  The modern world has harnessed electricity, compressed distance and transformed time.  The once impossible is now commonplace and expected.

Walk into a room and flip a switch - instantly the light illuminates our space.  Want to learn about a faraway place, study a new language, find a recipe - the information on the internet is at our fingertips in mere moments.  We can communicate with someone across the street or on the other side of the world virtually instantly.

The evidence of our connection is attached to our homes and businesses.  While the plain gray boxes vary in size, shape and configuration, they all do the same things - connect us to the power grid and the internet - the machinery of modern living.

Painted using WM oils on a stretched canvas.
